Spacebase 1710-SD: An epic tale from Spacebase DF-9.
“Looking down the road, space exploration and the benefits it yields in medicine and information technology should not be overlooked.”

This is my last Entry Log, not because I want it to be, but because we've run into a major issue. Our airlocks have failed, our life support system has failed, and all around me I am watching my friends, and newly met citizens die from asphyxiating...I don't have much time, I can feel myself getting tired, I can feel the need for oxygen...Things are getting darker, and I keep thinking about the smiling faces of my family as I boarded, and deployed into space from Sol-1...
I didn't think it would end this way, I never imagined that my life would end so soon...I can't help but hear the voices of the others as they sent one last message to those on Sol-1...We took on this mission though, and we knew the risk, but never would I have thought that it would end so soon, and so tragically.
I am not sure if anyone will find this log I've kept, I'm not sure if anyone will come along and rebuild what we failed at completing...It still baffles me how all this could happen at once, the only thing my mind keeps flashing back to is seeing Jenn Poulsen tinkering with the life support units, as well as the airlock doors, but I would hate to accuse her of this mishap when it meant she would also die with the rest of us...
If any one finds this, please know that Azha, John, and myself worked very hard, and possibly if we would have turned the others away this would have never happened...I keep hearing their voices around me...Yet, I can see their lifeless bodies floating right outside of the airlock bay...It has to be the lack of oxygen, but they sound so real...I'm so tired...I..can...no...longer........
*Entry Log ended*
All the citizens of Spacebase 1710-SD died, thirty two years later the base was found and recolonized as Spacebase 3280-SAJ in honor of Steph Fowl, Azha Dax, and John Dax who lost their lives attempting to colonize a portion of space for the advancement of The Galactic Federation of Sol. A memorial was built on Sb 3280-SAJ with the names, and photo of all the citizen of Sb 1710-SD. No one ever found out the cause of the technical failures even though a full fledge investigation was setup, and the only reason behind the tragedy is technical failure do to faulty equipment.
