Spacebase 1710-SD: An epic tale from Spacebase DF-9.
“The sky is the limit only for those who aren't afraid to fly!”
― Bob Bello, Sci-Fi Almanac, 2010
Introduction:
The vast openess above the Earth has always been a mystery, from the first civilizations, to the first of mankind to take a step onto the moon of Earth has always been strife with controversy, and mystery. Those first steps were taken many many years ago, so long ago that no one within the 30 generations still living remembers the day. We've advanced beyond those first steps, and now they are just history, a nod to the advancement of mankind, and the beginning of life a new.
We are no longer Earthlings, and mankind is just a word now...We are the SD, the decendants of Earthlings, and the inhabitants of space. There has been many before us, and there will be many after us, but this is our story, the story of a space colony in ruins, and the development of Spacebase 1710-SD.

Diaspora Fleet IX[Interim Sol-3 Government]
Mission: Resettle Milky WaY.
*post-collapse ~
There was a bit of tension in the pod, this being all three of our first trip to settle a portion of the Milky Way a bit of a distance outside of the Warp Gate known as Sector 36-18. There had been rumors going around Sol-1 that Sol-2 had been destroyed, bombarded with asteroids and ravged by infestions, and raiders, this naturally put us on edge.
After going through the mission log, and making sure we had enough fuel and resources to make the trip, we strapped in and deployed into the vastness of space. Prayers to the gods that we make it, this could be trouble just waiting for the opportunity to strike. This is Steph Fowl, signing off. Entry Log 1, end.

We made it! After 13 years, we finally made it! Not with out issues, of course. We ran into a heavy asteroid field that caused quite a bit of damage to our Seed, and caused us to have to evacuate, lucky we had just entered Sector 36-18, and was able to save the energy core of the Seed Pod. Azha, John, and I began working on our airlock, and a small life support room right away, this is the only way we can get our base running after all, and with only about 4 days of oxygen in our spacesuits, we had to move fast.
I was the only one with skills in building, after all, I was a builder on Sol-1, but Azha, and John helped as much as they could, and I believe we have the combined talents to get a decent life support room, and airlock completed before our oxygen runs out, and we are lost in space. I should end this here, five days isn't that long when building a Spacebase. Steph Fowl, signing off. Entry Log 2, end.
