Spacebase 1710-SD: An epic tale from Spacebase DF-9.
“Apollo has something to teach us as we enter a new century of genetic modification, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology. It's a cautionary tale about that most fundamentally human of human tragedies .. wanting something so badly that you end up destroying it.”

As we were working on our life support room, and bar an immigrant ship approached us. It had been 13 years, and six days since we had seen someone other than the three of us, it was a sight for sore eyes. There were two inhabitants of the shuttle, Pietro Franklin, a doctor, and Voltaire Chi, a bartender! How luck would have it, that as we worked to complete our bar, a bartender would find us.
Voltaire, and Pietro landed to the north of the asteroid field closest to us, it took them some time to reach us, but when they finally did, it was a joyous occasion. They both were very nice, and got to work right away. Since we weren't finish with the bar yet Voltaire didn't have much to do, but he helped by keeping the smaller life support room clean.
Even though we were happy to have the two join us, we soon noticed an issues, and a major one...Our current life support room only could supply three with adequate oxygen, so this added populous became a big concern, and we had to rush and expand the LS room.
With the LS room being a priority, I shouldn't take too much time off from building. We may have to turn the next immigrants away if we can not support them, but hopefully before another ship contacts us, we will have the necessary supplies to welcome them to our new home. It has been three days since my last log, but today brought another immigrant shuttle, lucky for us it only help one immigrant, a scientist by the name of Veli Cita. This brought is population to 6, yet our base still can only hold three, but we couldn't turn a scientist away, we will need one if any outbreaks occur, but we will need to build a research lab.
Azha, and myself got together and decided that we should build the research lab to the north side of the LS room, this will add a larger burden to complete both as well as to our energy demands, but it will be well worth it once we make more progress.
We hope to have more of the Spacebase completed within the next three days, if not, we have no choice but to turn any new immigrants away, and with the area we are located this could be a life or death decision. I never expected to hold any one else fate in my hands when I sighed up for the exploration, and colonization unit, but in these tough times, it is a must.
I'm hoping for their own sake no one else comes across us in the next few days, even though I know what must be done, I'm not sure if I alone can make the choice of sending someone away. I pray to the gods
that they lead me with a sane mind, and pure heart. Steph Fowl, signing off. Entry Log 6, end.
